THE FLORIDA KEYS

Travel south from Miami on US1A and you leave the mainland behind as you  travel over dozens of bridges that connect the islands that are known as The Florida Keys, Biscayne, Largo and down to Key West, the southernmost point of North America.

The Florida Keys Property market is essentially split into three principle areas given the distance from one end to the other.

The Upper Keys...  are home to the Monroe County towns of Key Largo, Tavernier and Islamorada in Monroe County and include the Keys of Key Largo - Key Largo, North Key Largo, Tavernier -  Plantation Key - Islamorada Windley Key, Upper Matecumbe Key, Lignumvitae Key, Lower Matecumbe Key

Florida Keys in Miami Dade County include Transitional keys, Soldier Key, Ragged Keys,Boca Chita Key, Sands Key which are located in the Biscayne National Park and only accessible by boat
True Florida keys which are exposed ancient coral reefs include Elliott Key, Adams Key, Reid Key, Rubicon Keys, Totten Key, Old Rhodes Key.

The Middle Keys.... 

 are probably most recognised a the home to Marathon and its surrounding areas which are made up from  Grassy Key, Crawl Key, Long Point Key, Fat Deer Key, Key Vaca and Boot Key. Other keys include Craig Key, Fiesta Key, Long Key - which was formerly known as Rattlesnake Key - Conch Key, Duck Key, Knight's Key and Pigeon Key

The Lower Keys.... are, for many first time visitors the destination of choice as they drive down US1A, crossing bridge and key one after the other in order to reach the end of the line, Key West. Much publicised and known to be a party town throughout the year Key West is certainly worth visiting, but do not discount the other resorts and keys that you will pass on the way.
