Denia

Denia is a coastal city located to the north of the province of Alicante and has a 20-kilometre coastline, made of small, beautiful coves. A popular area for residential tourism, Denia is also the port for ferries leaving for the Balearic Islands. To the north there are the fine sandy beaches of Les Marines and Les Bovetes and the shingle beaches of Les Deveses and L' Almadrava (shingled) beaches which are craggy and rocky; to the south is the Les Rotes beach. Though the beaches are long, they are not enormous and generally appeal to family-type tourism. The mild temperature, the annual average being 18º C, means that it is a pleasant place to stay.

Jávea – Xábia

Jávea is located in the northern section of the province of Alicante, between the capes of San Antonio and La Nao and is one of the ex-pat community hotspots. Thousands of villas are scattered around Jávea's municipality which boast leisure harbours, small coves and El Arenal beach.

Calpe

The Peñón de Ifach rock is renowned by climbers for its difficulties and unique features, and it can be climbed by a number of routes of varying difficulty. Potholing is possible on the steep banks and peaks of the Monte Oltá and the Barranc del Mascarat. Calpe's attractions have made the village a tourist destination of note for both national and international visitors, who live together all year round in peace and harmony. Obliged visits are the Peñon natural park, the salt lakes and Baños de la Reina roman baths. Saturday is market day.

Benidorm

The Costa Blanca holiday capital needs no presentation.

Benidorm has some of the best beaches in the world. The fine sand, cleaned daily, the quality of the services and the transparency of the water are the main reasons given by Benidorm's many visitors. Benidorm's attractions include its island, Terra Mitica theme park, Mundomar sea-life park and Aqualandia water fun park, together with numerous discotheques, night clubs and restaurants. Local fiestas include Fallas (March 19) and Patron Saint Fiestas (second week in November).

Benidorm's attraction lies in the variety of its leisure amenities, with a wide range of activities for foreign and national tourists, children, teenagers and pensioners. All tastes and activities are catered for: gastronomy, music, culture, excursions through the region and cinema. Walks can be taken in the Parque de Elche, excursions taken to the Sierra Gelada, you can go swimming on the best beaches of the Costa Blanca, go to the cinema, visit the Aquatic Park, eat and drink in restaurants for all budgets, and practise sports such as sailing and diving and also enjoy the nightlife.

Villajoyosa / La Vila Joiosa

Its economy depends both on shallow-water and deep-sea fishing. The town's relationship with the sea has been a determining factor in its history and culture and the town's overseas trade has produced La Vila's other typical industry: chocolate. The town enjoys 3.5 kms of beaches as well as numerous small coves which are ideal for a spot of sun-bathing or snorkelling.

Alicante - Alacant
Alicante is situated in the Bay formed by the Cabo de las Huertas and the Cabo de Santa Pola, at the foothills of the Monte Benacantil. The town boasts lovely beaches, a long stretch of promenade and many fine restaurants, shops and bars. The esplanade runs parallel to the seafront and is a favourite place to stroll when visiting the city, to eat ice cream, and to listen to concerts performed by the Municipal Band.

Elche - elx
Elche is the second largest city in the Alicante Province and rivals with Alicante on population. It boasts the impressive Palmeral palm tree forest and is surrounded by more than 300,000 palm trees; recently named part of the UNESCO humankind heritage and it is the third most populous city of the Valencian Region. Elx encompasses the entire range of attractions that the province has to offer its visitors: pre-history, history, natural riches, beaches and the influence of its citizens on culture and traditions are all elements that are worthy of note in this modern, thriving and growing city.

Torrevieja

Torrevieja has grown up extremely quickly due to the fact that the area has a rich source of salt and a very effective port for distribution. Now the trend has been extended somewhat to the tourist. Torrevieja has a high foreign population both in the summer months and all year round due to the beautiful climate and ample beaches.

Murcia

Murcia is situated in the centre of the Segura Valley. The city was founded in 825 AD and has an average yearly temperature of 18 C. It is now a modern City that still holds many historic and beautiful buildings (El Palacio Episcopal, Iglesia de San Miguel amongst others).

Alfas del Pi

Alfas del Pi is located in the Spanish region of Alicante on the Costa Blanca. The town was originally developed as a fortified settlement to ward off the Barbary pirates who used to plague this stretch of the Spanish coast. The name Alfas (often spelt locally as Alfaz) means "sown land" and was given to the town by the Moors who originally grew fruits and almonds in this area as well as mining metals and gypsum.

Now this small town, once a frontier at the heart of the Moors and Christian battles, has developed into one of the Costa Blanca's most popular tourist centres. Fortunately, the local authorities have controlled the growth of the town by ensuring that residential developments respect a limit of 4 storeys and by guaranteeing that 50 % of developed land is made up of green areas.

Altea

The dome of Altea's church, blue with a white geometrical design, is one of the symbolic images of the Costa Blanca. Altea is situated on a hill whose peak rises above the white-tiled parish church. The magnificently jumbled and cluttered centre of the Old Town provides Altea with a special charm. Because of its clarity and priviledged situation, at the centre of the bay named after it, Altea has always attracted visitors, in particular artists, painters, writers, sculptors, singers, etc.,, who in the 60s and 70s made it a meeting point and a place of residence for the bohemian world.

Nowadays, Altea is a highly contemporary and cosmopolitan meeting point while keeping the personality of a village, quiet and peaceful, with a fisherman's tradition. An old town which offers the visitor a beautiful view and soft shapes which represent an open invitation for visitors to get to known it better. The beaches and pebbles have an unquestionable attractiveness for visitors, who can also enjoy a great number of cultural and festive events.
